It is time to reserve your seat for the next MT|SHRM Transition Group meeting! We are excited to have Cheri Carr, an alum of our group, join us to share her transition journey and learnings/insights gained along the way. I'm sure this will be a great discussion!

Cheri was born in Seattle, WA and moved to Nashville to attend Fisk University after receiving a full ride academic scholarship. She obtained her BA in Psychology and a minor is Spanish. She then decided to pursue work in the government sector.

She obtained a Master’s degree in Public Administration from Tennessee State University in 2010 and began working with the State of TN Department of Treasury in 2011 as a Retirement Specialist and eventually as a Disability Retirement Specialist.
                                                                                      
Having an interest in Human Resources since graduating college she decided to pursue a career in HR and started networking with friends in the field. In December 2022, she got a job offer to work in the TN Department of Human Resources as an HR Generalist.
