Human Resources Networking Group with Alum Speaker
Hello everyone!
In Part 2 of this series, we’ll dive into the tactical approaches to using LinkedIn to engage in networking, including how to structure your messaging based on the type of conversation you're having, how to formulate your discussion questions to get the most out of your conversation, and how to use LinkedIn to power your research. Join us as we learn together how to network for success!
Karen Baird is a current member of our group and seasoned networker/relationship builder. An experienced marketing communications professional, Karen has over 20 years of service in diverse industries including nonprofit, publishing, higher education, and healthcare. Karen honed her networking skills and confidence in approaching strangers through her decade of work at MIT, where she created a new communications function for the MIT Technology Licensing Office. The role required that Karen network with hundreds of faculty, staff, researchers, and students across the Institute as well as other universities and biotech companies.
In advance of this meeting, please think of any questions you would like to be addressed. Upon joining the meeting (via Zoom), you will be asked to:
- Provide a 30 second introduction.
- Share your contact information in the chat so others will be able to connect with you (optional). We suggest your name, email address and your LinkedIn Profile URL.
- Address any questions you have in a separate chat directly to Lauren Kiproff-Downer and she will compile them for discussion during the meeting.
We are excited about the meeting and will begin at 4:00PM CST via Zoom Here. For more information on future meetings please visit the MTSHRM website. Feel free to pass this email along to your networks that may be interested in connecting. If you've recently landed a role, please reply directly here and let us know!
We look forward to seeing you all Monday!
Thanks,
Dan Schryver
