Meet Our Speaker - Tia Sydnor, PHR, CDE

Tia has extensive HR and DEIB experience creating strategies, programs, systems and processes from end-to-end for major corporations such as Randstad USA, Electrolux Home Products (Frigidaire), Logan Aluminum, Change Healthcare, and the YMCA of Middle Tennessee. By aligning efforts with an organization’s strategic priorities, vision, mission, and values; she has led large-scale process improvement and change management strategies that resulted in efficient, scalable and sustainable outcomes.

In 2021, Tia appeared as a panelist on Hilltoppers@Work Webinar: Appreciating the Skills of Others hosted by Western Kentucky University. Also, in 2021 she co-facilitated a webinar Using a Team Based Work-Model to Promote Inclusivity and Engagement in the Workplace, for the Middle Tennessee SHRM Conference. In 2023, Tia convened over 20 DEIB professionals, from major organizations in Middle Tennessee, and presented on the importance of creating safe spaces and community for those who manage the DEIB function. Tia holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Resources Management from Western Governors University; a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification from the Human Resources Certification Institute (HRCI); and a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the Workplace certificate from the University of South Florida. In 2023, Tia received her Certified Diversity Executive (CDEÒ) credentials from the Institute for Diversity Certification, which are the most recognized and accepted credentials in the DEI industry.

In addition, Tia is a mother of three and wife of 16 years, who enjoys reading in her spare time. As an avid reader she reads most books in one day! She loves all genres but enjoys mysteries and historical fiction the most.
