Responsible Allyship: Building Inclusive Workplaces
This session empowers HR professionals with evidence-based practices for responsible allyship while addressing
common pitfalls and the unintended harm that good intentions can sometimes cause. Through practical examples
and actionable strategies, participants will learn how to champion inclusion effectively, avoiding missteps that undermine
trust and belonging. Attendees will leave equipped to drive meaningful organizational change by fostering a workplace culture
where every individual feels valued and supported.
Learning Objectives:
- Understand the Key Principles of Allyship:
Gain a foundational understanding of responsible allyship, its role in fostering inclusion, and its potential to positively impact workplace culture.
- Analyze Effective and Harmful Behaviors:
Examine real-world examples of allyship in action, identifying both effective strategies and common mistakes that can unintentionally cause harm.

Meet our Speaker: Ben Vos

Speaker Bio: Born in the Midwest, Ben Vos moved to Nashville in 2002 for a career in arts fundraising. Since that time, Ben has worked as a coach, consultant and counselor, including many years as an Employee Assistance Program counselor serving companies across the Midsouth. Trained as a family systems therapist, Ben now serves as a talent mobility consultant, business transformation coach, and benefits consultant and just became an ICF Coach in Training through Loaves and Fishes Coach Training in New York. He splits time between Tennessee and Virginia, where his wife works as a tribal leader for the Upper Mattaponi Tribe, a First Contact nation that was part of the Powhatan Confederacy. Ben's most important job is as Dad to Bella, his teenage daughter.
