Presented by: Michelle Pauk, ICF-PCC: Executive Coach | Streamside Coaching, LLC

In today’s rapidly changing workplace, HR professionals are called on to lead critical initiatives—often without direct authority over the people whose support they need. Whether driving organizational change, implementing new policies, or building cross-functional programs, the ability to influence without authority is a business-critical skill.
In this interactive session, participants will explore four essential strategies for building trust, engaging stakeholders, and turning resistance into partnership. Drawing on real-world examples from global organizations, Michelle will share practical tools that align with SHRM competencies such as Relationship Management, Leadership & Navigation, and Communication. Attendees will leave with repeatable methods to strengthen their influence, secure support for HR initiatives, and deliver measurable business impact—all while preparing themselves for higher levels of leadership responsibility.

Learning Objectives:

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Frame a compelling case for change that connects HR initiatives to organizational strategy and business outcomes.
  • Build strategic partnerships across silos by applying proven techniques to engage and gain the trust of key stakeholders.
  • Leverage resistance as a source of insight to strengthen HR programs and increase adoption.
