Employee Engagement is Stuck! Where do We Go From Here?
Presented by Mark McWatters, Director of Client Solutions, Work Institute
![]() |
Employee Engagement is "stuck!" Every year the research is published reporting the same bleak story. We are not moving the needle on employee engagement. The Deloitte 2015 Human Capital Report cited "culture and engagement" as the most important human capital issue facing organizations today. The research is clear on one thing - higher levels of employee engagement consistently correlate to higher revenues and greater stakeholder value. So why do we keep approaching employee engagement in the same way. |
Once every one to two years we conduct an employee engagement study, several months later we identify a few issues and then a few months later we create some type of action plan to hopefully impact perceptions and behaviors. Is it working? In most cases not even close.
It is time we start thinking and acting differently with respect to employee engagement. In this session you will learn:
- The biases and flawed nature of typical engagement studies
- The newest trends in collecting employee feedback
- How to think differently about rating scales
- Where the linchpin in employee engagement is located
- Impacting employee engagement must become a "cause" not an "event"
