Wellness Programs are an integral part of an employee engagement strategy. The Middle Tennessee Wellness Summit will focus on the impact of a strong wellness focus, strategies that can bring the most value to your team, and how to successfully build a grass roots wellness program no matter the size of your company.
Learning Objectives:

- To learn how companies of any size can do to put a focus on wellness without a large financial investment.

Biographies:
Ben Altom - The road throughout Ben's career has taken him in a variety of places. From touring the United States with various bands while promoting concerts and music festivals, to managing multiple offices in the Southeast in the mortgage industry, to now helping promote financial wellness and education in Middle Tennessee. Ben has traveled many roads into the career he has with First Tennessee Bank.
Currently he is an Vice President for First Tennessee Bank serving as the Director of the First Tennessee @ Work Program. He oversees the program for Middle Tennessee developing and implementing strategy for workplace banking. The main focus of his position is to give employees in Middle Tennessee an opportunity to become more confident in their financial decisions by providing a true relationship with their banker as well as hosting financial education courses at their workplace.
Jay Kelley - is President and CEO of Spire, the enterprise social network for wellness that builds healthy culture on behalf of employers and health plans. Since joining Spire in June of 2012, Jay has managed the company as it has undergone a number of transitions, including rebranding from LifeKraze to Spire, the launch of iOS and Android apps, the initiation of several pilots with major healthcare partners, the creation of a healthcare advisory board, and the company's ultimate repositioning from a consumer platform to an enterprise SaaS serving employers and health plans.
Previously, Jay was a Founding Executive (and the second employee) of The Documentary Channel, a national cable and satellite network that grew to nearly 30 million homes before it was acquired by Participant Media in 2012. Jay raised the initial capital for the channel and served in a variety of top executive positions during his nine-year tenure with the company, overseeing marketing and PR, commercial operations, digital and social platforms, advertising sales, strategic partnerships and branded entertainment. Jay was instrumental in growing the network from idea to profitability, and in developing multi-platform partnerships with a number of Fortune 500 brands including P&G, ExxonMobil and Red Bull.
Jennifer Law - A focused, dynamic leader with a proven track record for delivering results on time and within budget with solid execution. Over thirteen years of combined experience in Benefits Administration and Project Management with three major US brands. Recognized on multiple occasions as an insightful, highly motivated and results-oriented individual capable of motivating teams to deliver results in a fast paced, challenging environment.
Jennifer currently works alongside the Director of Benefits in the planning, designing, implementing, administering and communicating of employee benefits programs to support the organization’s business strategies. These programs include health, wellness, life & disability and 401k benefits. In partnership with the Cracker Barrel Benefits Team and Benefits Task Force, identifies key initiatives which will increase employee engagement and satisfaction with their Benefits, while reducing overall cost. Works with cross functional internal business and external vendor partners to effectively implement key objectives. This role allows for the opportunity to interact with all levels of the organization.
Jonquil Newland – Jonquil joined the News Channel 5 team in August 2014 as a general assignment reporter.
She comes to Nashville from WRCB in Chattanooga, Tennessee but is no stranger to Music City. Originally from Grand Rapids, Michigan, Jonquil spent the majority of her life in the Volunteer State. She grew up outside of Nashville, in Bellevue and in Spring Hill. She is a Spring Hill High School graduate. After high school Jonquil spent her college years on Rocky Top at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville and traveled the world with the Pride of the Southland Marching Band.
While in college Jonquil worked with journalists at WBIR in Knoxville before heading to West Tennessee for her first on-air job in Jackson. While there, she covered big stories including the assassination threat on then-Senator Barack Obama, the 2010 floods that devastated parts of Middle and West Tennessee, and the disappearance of nursing student Holly Bobo.
