Telecommuting, Workplace Stealing, and Occasional Napping - An Employer's Guide to "Reasonable" Accommodations.

Presented by Jonathan Harris, Attorney, Ogletree Deakins Law Firm

The EEOC and the courts are imposing ever-greater accommodation duties on employers. These so-called accommodations range from the precedent-defying (e.g., eliminating regular attendance as an essential job function) to the bizarre (e.g., requiring an employer to put up with foul language) to the sublime (e.g., allowing intermittent naptime). This session will provide examples of how accommodation duties have expanded and suggest practical tips on how in-house counsel can navigate the evolving minefield that is the ADA.

Schedule: Doors open at 7:15 am for registration and networking. Buffet breakfast begins at 7:20 am, and the presentation starts promptly at 8:00 am.

Breakfast:

  • Members: $18 by end of business Wednesday, September 10, walk-ins $23.
  • Students: $9 by end of business Wednesday, September 10, walk-ins $11.50.
  • Future Members: $29 by end of business Wednesday, September 10, walk-ins $40. *(See below)
